Outreach

The Foley Freeze started an after school Robotics program with an inner-city Detroit church, St. Luke Catholic Church. The students attend different schools but are from the neighborhood.

The outreach program started from a robotics demonstration during a vacation bible school session. The kids were so excited about the robot that we wanted to continue their excitement. We contacted Holy Family Catholic grade school in Rochester Hills, a Metro Detroit suburb to ask for any old RCX kits they may no longer be using. The program was given 5 full RCX kits for the Outreach program to use.

We are hoping to give the kids enough training and confidence to want to compete as an actual FLL team in 2010.
